Voters in a number of school districts around the state are going to the polls Tuesday, voting on referendum questions.

In the metro area, including Eden Prairie, voters are being asked to approve almost $40 million to modernize classrooms, improve security and move preschool classes to elementary schools and sixth-graders to middle school.

According to the district, the tax impact would be $6.50 a month on a $350,000 home.

Other districts with referendums on the ballot Tuesday include Eveleth-Gilbert, Frazee-Vergas, Lester Prairie, Marshall, Moose Lake, North St. Paul-Maplewood, Owatonna, Pine River-Backus, Pillager, Round Lake-Brewster, Staples-Motley, Virginia, Wrenshall and Zumbrota-Mazeppa.
