Around 90 minutes later, according to the release, a Rice police officer learned Bonde had driven a van-sized school bus to Rice Elementary School and was currently in the driver's seat. A Rice police officer and Benton County deputies approached the bus and made contact.

The release alleges officers observed signs indicating Bonde was intoxicated, and that a breath test indicated his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit. A container which held an alcoholic beverage was also allegedly found on the bus.

No students were in the bus while Bonde was operating it, the release said.

He was issued a citation for DUI and possessing an open bottle.
