During their investigation, police learned a person had gone to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

Deputies responded at about 10:38 p.m. and learned 32-year-old Justin Henrichs, of Sauk Centre, and 38-year-old Jason Ruegemer, of Villard, were at a home on the 49000 block of 400th Street when a pistol Henrichs had discharged and struck him in the hand.

The crash then took place when Ruegemer was driving Henrichs to the hospital.

The injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, according to the sheriff's office.
