Sanya Pirani, a sixth-grader from Hidden Oaks Middle School in Prior Lake, dropped off 500 hand-sewn bags filled with school supplies and toys at Sharing and Caring Hands on Tuesday.

The bags are for homeless children served by the organization.

Pirani is the founder of her own nonprofit, called Sanya's Hope for Children.

According to her webpage, Priana does these kind acts after watching a YouTube video she saw when she peeked into her mother's office of a young girl with "torn clothes, no shoes, immense sadness and fear in her eyes."

The video inspired her to help not one, but hundreds of homeless kids through different organizations.

"I could reach for the star in me," she said. The sixth-grader has won multiple awards such as, Disney Summer of Service grant, Star of the North Award by Congressman John Klein, Leadership Service Award by the CAP agency in 2015 and many more awards for her outstanding service in the community.
