Roseville police investigate shooting in strip mall parking lot

Early Monday morning, a large police presence remained at the scene of a shooting in Roseville.

According to the Roseville Police Department, officers responded to a shopping center's parking lot, near the intersection of Rice Street and Larpenteur Avenue, on a report of a domestic-related shooting.


The incident took place around 10 p.m. Sunday, police said.

A 41-year-old man who sustained an apparent gunshot wound was taken to a nearby hospital. Police said he remains in critical condition.

A 40-year-old woman was taken into custody in the parking lot and was booked into the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center for attempted second-degree murder, police said.

Investigators with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are gathering information on the events leading up to the shooting. Police said they do not believe there is a threat to the public. They are not seeking any additional suspects.
