Progress on the Dayton's project in downtown Minneapolis is moving along, with construction now about 70 percent complete, according to project managers.
The century-old building, formerly home to Dayton's and Macy's department stores, is in the process of being redeveloped. The multi-million dollar project has been in the works for years.
It will eventually feature more than 1 million square feet of office space, shops, restaurants and amenities. The developers have yet to say which businesses have committed but say they are getting ready for tenants.

The Telos Group, part of the development team, told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS they want to pay tribute to the building's rich history while also giving the space a modern feel. The project includes amenities such as a health club with a boxing ring, a library and an all-seasons rooftop lounge.
"People want to have an everyday live-work environment where they can basically wake up, go to the gym, do their shopping, get a coffee, work out, do whatever it is they do," said Mercedes Barsh, of the Telos Group. "They can do it here."
Construction on the project started with demolition in 2017. Developers say the building will open in phases, starting this spring.
