Pond hockey tournaments continue during winter storm

It takes more than a half-foot of snow and some cold weather to stop a good Minnesota pond hockey tournament.

The North American Pond Hockey Championships continued Friday at Lake Minnetonka in Excelsior.

The organizers of the event didn't worry about the extreme weather, they embraced it.

"I love it, I love it, I absolutely love it. This is pondy, this is pond hockey," said J Lindsay, an organizer of the event.

"The whole community has embraced this and volunteered. We had 77 guys, it was 6-below to do rink set up early in the morning. I counted, it was crazy so this whole community has embraced this and I think that's what makes this event so special," he added.

The event runs through Sunday.
