Police: Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Columbia Heights

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Columbia Heights Saturday night. 

According to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 6:52 p.m., police responded to a call about a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle in the intersection of 40th Avenue and University Avenue. 


The sheriff's office said the pedestrian was standing in the center median of University Avenue and stepped into traffic.

The pedestrian was hospitalized. Their condition is unknown at this time.

The Columbia Heights Police Department, EMS and a rescue team were also dispatched to the area.

The sheriff's office says this incident does not appear to be a hit and run, and there are no reports that the driver is not cooperating with investigators.

The incident is still being investigated by Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
