Police are investigating the death of a man who appeared to be the victim of "an act of violence" Sunday in Minneapolis.

Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder said around 8:30 p.m., officers were called to the 2400 block of Golden Valley Road on a report of a person who had stopped breathing.

Police found the victim's body at the scene, and evidence indicated that violence was a factor in his death, Elder said.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office will release the victim's identity, along with the nature and cause of his death, following an autopsy.
