Police say a man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Apple Valley Thursday evening.

According to Apple Valley Police, Ian Micheal Rosch succumbed to his injuries early Friday morning while at Hennepin County Medical Center.


On Thursday night, the department said officers were called to a crash at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and County Road 42 at about 7 p.m.

When they arrived, first responders found Rosch,37, severely injured and unresponsive in the northbound lane. CPR was started until paramedics arrived and took over, police said.

Police initially said, based on several witness accounts, preliminary investigation suggests Rosch darted into traffic unexpectedly and was struck by a vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
