Police investigating fatal shooting in St. Paul

A victim is dead after being shot Tuesday evening in the Dayton's Bluff neighborhood of St. Paul.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, officers received reports that a man was shot around 6:42 p.m. on the 1100 block of Pacific Street.

Police said responding officers found an "extremely chaotic" scene and a man who was gravely injured. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The suspect fled the scene, but police said they know who they're looking for. However, no arrests had been made as of Tuesday night. Police added that the shooting isn't believed to have been a random incident.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the victim and his cause of death at a later time.

It's the 13th homicide of the year in St. Paul.
