St. Paul police have identified the victim of a shooting Monday night.

Authorities identified the man who was fatally shot as 29-year-old Devon L. McClellan.

Officers were called to Regions Hospital at about 8 p.m. Monday on a report a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds was dropped off.

Although hospital staff worked to save the McClellan's life, he was pronounced dead Tuesday morning.

Police learned the shooting occurred in the alley behind the 400 block of University Avenue and they are investigating the incident as a homicide.

No arrests have yet been made in connection with the case and police said the investigation is ongoing.
