A 7-year-old was shot in the foot Tuesday night, according to Minneapolis Police Department.

At about 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 1100 block of Lowry Avenue N.

While en route, they were advised that a 7-year-old boy was shot. The boy was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Police said that the boy was exiting a business with their father when the shooting occurred. The police believe that neither the father nor the boy were the intended targets.

Police are still looking for a suspect. The incident will remain under investigation. More information is expected to be released at a later time.
