The plan for the redevelopment of the former Ford site in St. Paul has been unveiled.

Ryan Companies, the developer tasked with the transformation, revealed their plans at a presentation at Highland Park Middle School Wednesday night.

The 122-acre site will include a "world class central water feature," multiple green spaces, new roads, public gathering spaces, pedestrian and bike trails and ballfields for the Highland Little League.

Development will also include retail, health care and office spaces, as well as housing options.

Ryan Companies maintain the project is estimated to bring $1 billion of economic development to the area, as well as 14,000 construction jobs and 1,300 permanent jobs.

The plan will now be submitted to the St. Paul City Council for approval. Infrastructure work is expected to begin in fall 2019.
