Man Injured in Plane Crash at Anoka County-Blaine Airport

One person was injured Thursday in a plane crash at Anoka County-Blaine Airport, according to Blaine Police Chief Brian Podany. 

Podany said the crash occurred just after 11 a.m. Thursday at the north end of the airport's runway. 


The plane had one occupant who suffered serious injuries, according to Podany. The occupant was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where he is in critical condition. 

Podany said two people driving past the airport at the time of the crash stopped and rendered aid to the pilot. 

Podany identified the pilot as a 65-year-old man from Ham Lake. His name was not released.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the incident.
