The Anoka County Sheriff's Office said it is investigating an incident where a person was struck by a Northstar train Thursday afternoon.
The sheriff's office said in a new release that Coon Rapids Police found the body of a deceased individual at about 4:27 p.m. at the Northstar Metro Transit station in Coon Rapids.
Coon Rapids Police asked Fridley Police to attempt to locate a crash site in the city of Fridley, the release said, and police did locate a site south of Osborne Road NE.
According to the sheriff's office, preliminary investigation indicates a bicyclist was hit by a northbound Northstar commuter train.
The crash remains under investigation.
Metro Transit reported the Northstar has been delayed due to the incident that occurred at the Coon Rapids Station.
Northbound Northstar trips scheduled to leave Target Field Station will be covered by replacement buses.
More details are expected to be released at a later time.

UPDATE 6:28 PM: Northbound Northstar trips scheduled to leave Target Field Station this afternoon will be covered by replacement buses. Customers can board the replacement buses at the 5th St Garage. A Metro Transit Supervisor will be in the area to help customers.
