Pedestrian hit, killed in Blaine

A pedestrian was killed Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle while walking across a road.

Blaine Police said it happened at about 8:37 p.m.


According to police, the person was walking west across University Avenue at 85th Avenue NE when a vehicle heading south on University Avenue hit the person.

Police said the driver is cooperating with authorities, and no drugs or alcohol is believed to be involved.

The incident remains under investigation.

Authorities haven't released the victim's name at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
