Authorities said a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle Monday in Maplewood has died. 

A news release from the Maplewood Police Department identified the pedestrian as 20-year-old Jordan Ciampi.


According to the release, authorities were called on Monday morning to a pedestrian crash at County Road D East and Southlawn Drive. When officers arrived, they located Ciampi, who was injured. Ciampi was taken to Regions Hospital. 

Police said an initial investigation indicates that a vehicle was traveling eastbound on County Road D with a green traffic light. It is believed Ciampi started to cross County Road D when he was struck by the vehicle. 

Ciampi was pronounced dead Friday. 

Police continue to investigate the crash.
