An email was sent out to parents of students at North High School in North St. Paul Wednesday after administrators received a shooting threat, which turned out to be a hoax.

Administrators determined the shooting threat was issued from out of state.

The email was sent by the school principal and appears in full below.

We were notified this morning by the North St. Paul Police of a social media threat towards North High School. At this point, the threat appears to be be part of a larger hoax involving multiple North High Schools across the country. We are taking extra precautions today including police presence as we continue to look into this. The current plan is to have a normal school day.

Student and staff safety is always our number one priority. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
