One person was found dead in a fire involving three campers in Rice Friday morning.

According to the Rice Police Department, the fire was reported around 9 a.m. at the Janski Garage on Division Street North.

Officers responded and found three campers engulfed in flames. Responders were told someone lived inside the campers and that person may have been inside at the time.

Rice firefighters arrived and after extinguishing the blaze found one adult victim inside. That person has not yet been identified.

The cause of the fire and the cause and manner of the victim's death are under investigation, police said.
