Sheriff: 49-year-old man dies after tree falls on top of him

An Oak Grove resident died after a tree fell on top of him Monday morning.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office reports at 10:23 a.m., authorities responded to the 22000 block of Drake Street NW in the city of Oak Grove on a report of a tree having fallen on a man. 


When deputies arrived, they began administering first aid before the 49-year-old man was eventually pronounced dead at the scene. 

Upon further investigation, it was determined the man had been attempting to cut the tree down when the accident occurred. 

The victim's full identity will be released at a later time.
