Northeast Minneapolis homicide under investigation

Tuesday morning, police announced they are investigating a homicide in northeast Minneapolis.


It was the second homicide investigation that occurred in the past seven hours.

In an update Tuesday morning, Sgt. Darcy Horn, with the Minneapolis Police Department, said the incident took place at about 6:38 a.m. near the intersection of Marshall Street and 16th Avenue NE. Officers received a 911 call and responded to the scene.

Police said officers found a man on a bridge in the area and learned he had died at the scene. The man's cause of death was unknown as of Tuesday morning, police said.

Earlier Tuesday, authorities reported they had launched a separate homicide investigation after a man who "had suffered trauma" was found on a bike path in Minneapolis late Monday night. That man was pronounced dead at the scene.
