A bog that's been the scourge of a North Long Lake beach for months has finally been moved.

According to North Long Lake Association President Bill Schmidt, the final portion of the bog has been moved away from the Legionville School Patrol Safety Camp's shoreline.

Last fall, the bog broke away from shore and floated around, taking out docks and boat lifts before it landed on the beach at LegionvilleThe original bog was four acres. Crews cut it into several pieces during the removal process.

Before the final push, crews cut the remaining part of the bog into three pieces and pulled them away using boats.

Schmidt said Legionville will be all set for next year. This year, the bog forced the camp to cancel its summer sessions for the first time since World War II.
