Alexandria Police arrived on scene and determined that the man said to have been in the vehicle, identified as Poczerwinski in the release, had gone into the vehicle as it was on fire to move it away from the residence, but had safely gotten out of the vehicle after moving it.

The Alexandria Police officers were able to contain the fire until the Alexandria Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is believed by police to be associated with the vehicle's electrical system.
