No one was injured in a vehicle fire that happened early Sunday morning.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, a call was received just before 1 a.m. about a vehicle fire at 2704 Golden Gate Avenue Southeast. The caller stated to police that a vehicle was on fire and it was possibly occupied by an adult male.

Alexandria Police arrived on scene and determined that the man said to have been in the vehicle, identified as Poczerwinski in the release, had gone into the vehicle as it was on fire to move it away from the residence, but had safely gotten out of the vehicle after moving it.

The Alexandria Police officers were able to contain the fire until the Alexandria Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle is a total loss. 

The cause of the fire is believed by police to be associated with the vehicle's electrical system.
