Authorities say a motorcyclist was killed after his bike hit hay bales that fell from a trailer, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The incident occurred just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Highway 25.

The State Patrol said a Dodge Ram with a trailer was hauling hay when three bales fell into the roadway. 

A motorcycle, driven by Myles McGrath, was southbound on Highway 25 when it crashed into one of the hay bales and went off into the road. 

The State Patrol said McGrath, 64, was later pronounced dead.
