One person died after a motorcycle crash Tuesday night in Maple Grove.

Capt. Adam Lindquist with Maple Grove Police said the crash happened at about 8:15 p.m. near Bass Lake Road and Jewel Lane N.


According to Lindquist, an SUV was turning east onto Bass Lake Road from Jewel Lane when the motorcycle hit the SUV.

The motorcyclist was reported to have been traveling 90-100 mph before the crash, and was described by in dispatch audio as a man in his 20s, Lindquist said. The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Neither the driver nor the passenger of the SUV were injured.

Authorities aren't yet identifying anybody involved in the crash.
