A new interactive app created by a Twin Cities tech company is helping soccer players advance their training.
The app, created by MOTI Sports, breaks down dozens of different skills with step-by-step 3D guides that can be viewed from 360 degrees.
"They can become better players much faster, enjoy it even more and they're engaged in things that are positive because they have that reinforcement," said Alan Merrick, content director at MOTI Sports.
Merrick, a former professional soccer player, now coaches the men's soccer team at the University of Minnesota. His voice can be heard across the app, providing specific coaching for each skill.
Merrick said thousands of people across the country have downloaded the app since its release in November, including many teams in the metro.

Coaches can also create special portals for their players customized by age, skill, gender and even language.
Parents who use the program said their kids enjoy fusing a video game concept with real-life soccer practice.
"My son was like, 'It's magic!'" said Jemma Merrick, whose kids play on local soccer teams. "Because you can manipulate it and see it from all different angles. That really resonates with some of the kids that are into gaming to get to see something like that, so it touches on all different kinds of learning styles."
You can find the app by searching "MOTI mobile" in the app store. You can try it out for free and then there are different packages available based on individual needs. For more information, click here: https://www.motisports.com/
