Body cam videos, 911 calls from Damond among evidence in Noor trial released Thursday

Some of the evidence a jury saw and heard in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor was released Thursday.

Judge Kathryn Quaintance ruled Wednesday that she would allow the media and public to make copies of most exhibits. The exceptions are five body camera videos that show Damond's final moments.

Jurors last month found Noor guilty of murder in the third-degree and manslaughter in the second-degree in connection to the fatal shooting of Justine Ruszczyk Damond in July 2017. Sentencing is scheduled for June 7.

Damond had called 911 to report a possible crime occurring outside her South Minneapolis home when she was shot by Noor while approaching the vehicle Noor and his partner Matthew Harrity were inside.

The evidence released Thursday includes body camera videos from officers responding to the shooting scene. For the first time, Noor is seen in the moments after the shooting.

"You alright, kiddo," one of the officers asks Noor.

"Yeah," he responds while putting his head into his hands.

"Just keep to yourself. Keep your mouth shut," the officer says, keeping him away from the scene.

Also among the evidence released were the two 911 calls Damond made that night. In the first, she says a woman sounds distressed and that she thought she heard the word "help."

She then called back eight minutes later to ensure police had the right address and was told officers were on the way.

More evidence is expected to be released on Friday.
