In Wake of Report Showing MNLARS Inaccuracies, Lawmakers Seek More Answers

State lawmakers met Wednesday to learn more about a state audit report that found significant inaccuracies in specifically vehicle registration transactions.

Among many findings, the report uncovered that people were underpaying and overpaying for vehicle registration.

Deputy legislative auditor Judy Randall said that has been an issue for over 20 years, based on financial audits from the 1990s. And representatives from the Department of Public Safety were asked why the state legislature wasn't made aware of that, at least before MNLARS was rolled out.
