The Minnesota Department of Transportation reported Thursday morning that a number of roadways in the state are flooded.

As of 11:30 a.m., a total of 22 roads were reported to be flooded, according to MnDOT. A large number of the flooded roadways were in southwest Minnesota.

The department posted a video on its social media pages showing Highway 16 south of Lanesboro completely covered in water.

MnDOT also reported flooded ditches along Interstate 90.

MnDOT said those highway segments are the ones to most likely be impacted overnight.

A KSTP reporter also reported flooding on southbound Interstate 494 in Minnetonka north of Highway 7.

As of Thursday afternoon, MnDOT reported the following highway closures in southeast Minnesota:

  • Highway 16 south of Lanesboro
  • Highway 60 at Highway 61 in Wabasha
  • Highway 74 between Beaver and Weaver

The Goodhue County Public Works Department also announced Thursday that some roads are closed due to flooding.

Closed roads in the county include:

  • County Road 6
  • County Road 44
  • County Road 53

Some roads that continue to be open with minor flooding in Goodhue County include:

  • County Road 7
  • County Road 11
  • County Road 17
  • County Road 19

MnDOT also said crews are removing equipment from the Stillwater Lift Bridge due to flooding concerns, and said crews will raise the lift span and lock it into place to float larger flood debris through and allow boat traffic to move up and down the St. Croix. Work will resume on the bridge after flood water recede.
