Missing Boater's Body Recovered in Sturgeon Lake

A boater who had been missing since Saturday evening in Sturgeon Lake was found Monday night, according to the Pine County Sheriff's Office.

According to the release, around 4:40 p.m. rescue personnel searching Sturgeon Lake recovered the body of missing boater, John Fanning. Fanning, 28, of Moose Lake, was reported missing on Saturday around 4:24 p.m. after jumping off a boat in Sturgeon Lake. Witnesses reported Fanning having trouble in the water before going under.

A search effort had been underway ever since.
