A missing 11-year-old girl from Brooklyn Park was found late Monday afternoon on the curb of a Bloomington clinic. She was discovered there by neighbors who said she seemed physically unharmed.
"She said 'Can I get a ride home to Brooklyn Park?' I think she recognized us. All she would say was that someone's mother dropped her off here. That's all we know," Marilyn Harris said, who drove the girl back to her neighborhood.
"It's incredible. I know how her mom must feel," Harris said.
Police say the girl ran away from home around 3 a.m. Monday morning after arguing with her mother.
When police arrived at the Brooklyn Park home, they removed three other children who were living there. The mother was taken to a local hospital.
"They made entry into the house and found concerning conditions not fit for children to be living," Deputy Chief Mark Bruely of the Brooklyn Park Police Department said.
Bruely also said there is an ongoing death investigation at the address from February that involves an 8-year-old boy.
As investigators executed a search warrant at the house, they found bugs, rats, and garbage inside.
Police say this is not the first time the 11-year-old has run away from home.
