The victim, Damian Cobos, suffered fractures in his face and bleeding in his head but on the outside of his brain, according to his mother, Monica.

Cobos was longboarding along Minnetonka Boulevard with his younger brother and his friend.

“These kids are my world, and they could have destroyed that in one shot,” Monica said Wednesday outside of North Memorial Hospital, where Damian is recovering from his injuries.

“They saw him go flying. They said he got thrown like a rag doll,” she said.

The Minnetonka Police Department confirms to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that it is investigating the incident.

The hit-and-run driver is believed to be driving a white pickup truck – and based on the injuries, Monica is convinced that he or she knows what they hit.

She also said that Damian’s friend saw the driver swerve briefly after impact.

“Turn yourself in, please. This is not OK. We cannot be doing this at all, this is horrible. He’s a young kid,” Monica said.
