Myrhe-Manwarren got to meet Petty and his band in June 2017 before their concert in St. Paul. Petty dedicated the song "Walls" to her during the show.

Myhre-Manwarren said at the time of Petty's death that it helped her face her own mortality.

"It's still hard to believe," she said. "I can't believe I'm here and he's gone. His passing made it easier for me to now accept the fact that I have to go."
