Minnesota veteran making a name in country music

On this Memorial Day weekend, singer-songwriter Sailor Jerri performed at Mall of America.

The military veteran grew up in Milaca, Minnesota and just released her second county music album.

A few years ago, Jerri rewrote Leonard Cohen's song 'Hallelujah' with a military theme.

A video of the song re-written went viral with millions of views.

"I didn't know all the words and I love the song but,  I just didn't know it well enough to sing it, so I rewrote it." Jerri said.

Sailor Jerri first started performing at the St. Cloud VA. She will be back on tour this summer performing all across the country.
