A Minnesota teenager is fighting for his life after a reaction caused by a peanut allergy.

Fifteen-year-old Jacob MacDonald is a student and football player at Dassel-Cokato High School in Wright County.

Jacob's family says he had a bad reaction caused by a peanut allergy on Saturday. MacDonald is now at a Twin Cities children's hospital.

The high school football team traveled to the hospital Monday to support MacDonald and his family.

"They're really upset and sad," student and football player Ben Lindquist said. "They were just thankful that we came down and supported him."

Jacob's mother, Bonni Halvorson, told KSTP that seeing the football team at the hospital was amazing. She said it helped the family get through a very tough day. She's praying, hoping and waiting for a miracle.
