"The Minnesota State Fair was not immune to some aspects of war," a post of the fair's Facebook page read.
According to the fair, competitive exhibits were altered due to food rationing.
However, the biggest change was to the livestock area. From 1943 to 1945, the livestock complex served as a government-run airplane propeller plant.
