The 49th Annual Minnesota Sportsmen's Boat, Camping and Vacation Show got underway Thursday at the St. Paul RiverCentre.

The event typically draws around 20,000 people and features hundreds of exhibitors. It runs through Sunday.

Among the events scheduled, according to a release, are the Great Lakes Timber Show featuring chainsaw carving, axe throwing, wood chopping and more, a live trout pond for kids, a Kids' Fishing School, Fur-Ever Wild featuring live wolves, cougars, baby goats and more, and numerous hunting and fishing seminars.

The doors open at noon Friday, then at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
