Minnesota Moment: Unexpected 'Miracle' Altered Half-Marathon Plans 5 Years Ago

June 13, 2018 11:24 PM

Trish Staine was training to run her first half-marathon five years ago.

But instead, TV station WDIO in Duluth reports, she got an unexpected surprise.

Instead of running the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, she ended up giving birth to her daughter Miracle.

She's made up for it since, though. Since Miracle's unexpected birth, she's done the half marathon and the full Grandma's marathon. And she now enjoys trail races.

Find out more in the video box above.

This year's Grandma's Marathon is scheduled for Saturday. The race runs from Two Harbors to Duluth.
