Minnesota Moment: Skater Records Over 7,000 Miles on Roseville Rink

This year the Guidant John Rose Minnesota Oval turns 25.

And since it opened, ice skater Horace Munoz has been on the rink.

Munoz, now 67, has collected every admission tag and has recorded 7,500 miles there.

Munoz said he started skating as a way to stay in shape for his son, who has cerebral palsy. He ended up falling in love with the sport.

"It feels like you have total freedom when you're out there," he said. "It's the smoothness, it's the winter time activity."

Munoz said next year he plans to do more with the hobby by fundraising to help people with developmental disabilities.
