Authorities believe a 27-year-old Minnesota man killed his girlfriend and their baby in a Florida forest before turning the gun on himself.

Kevin Olesen survived and is currently listed in critical condition. The Marion County Sheriff's Office received a call Saturday morning after a motorist found Olesen and 32-year-old Jessica Johnson, of Wisconsin, as well as their 1-year-old daughter, lying in the middle of a remote clay road deceased from apparent gunshot wounds in the Ocala National Forest. Olesen was also at the scene, suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The sheriff's office is investigating what it said appears to be a murder-suicide incident.

Alan Olesen, Kevin Olesen's father, told KSTP he can't understand why this happened.

"I thought everything was OK," Olesen said. "He was doing good, you know. When I got the news yesterday it was a surprise. He was not a violent person"

Alan Olesen said his son's organs will be donated.
