The Minnesota Department of Corrections confirms the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Faribault is under lockdown after a corrections officer was assaulted by an offender Monday morning in an incident that left four officers injured in all.

All four officers were taken to the hospital for further evaluation. The inmate has been removed from the general population and placed in restrictive housing.

The facility was also placed under lockdown last month. In July, a corrections officer at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Stillwater was killed after authorities said he was attacked by an inmate.
