Parents in a northwest Minnesota county are encouraged not to have their children walk to school after a bear was sighted near a school Tuesday. 

The Clearwater County Sheriff's Office said bears have been spotted in the areas of Clearbrook and Gonvick near the intersection of Clearwater Lake Road and 169th Avenue. The intersection is right in front of the Clearbrook Gonvick School.
