The Minneapolis Police Department is warning drivers never to leave vehicles running unattended, or to leave an extra set of keys inside the vehicle.

The department reports vehicle theft has increased in the city's third precinct recently.

In the past week, 21 vehicles were reported stolen - 18 of them had keys inside.
