UPDATE: In a release sent out late Wednesday night, Minneapolis police said Fardowso Ibrahim Hassan had been located and was safe.

The Minneapolis Police Department is requesting the public's help in finding a missing 13-year-old female last seen Sunday.

A release sent out by Minneapolis police spokesperson John Elder said Fardowso Ibrahim Hassan was last seen on the 3500 block of Morgan Avenue Sunday evening.

She is described as a Somali female who is five-feet-4 and weighs 130 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Fardowso was last seen wearing a green dress with an unknown headdress. Her family said to police that this is not standard behavior for her.

Elder said evidence collected at this time shows she could be endangered. Elder added that no amber alert has been issued due to no suspect being identified.

"Along with the Minneapolis Police Department and the Fourth Precinct, the family of [Fardowso] has exhausted all options with family friends and people of the community," Elder said.

Anyone with any information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Police will discuss the case further at a press conference at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
