Minneapolis police investigating after postal workers shot at by BB gun

Updated: July 30, 2019 05:46 PM

Minneapolis police are investigating after postal workers were shot at by people with BB guns twice in less than a week.

Last Thursday, a letter carrier was shot by a BB gun at N. 8th and Upton avenues while delivering mail on his route, but fortunately he was not severely hurt.

It happened again on Monday, this time at 20th and James Avenue N. Thankfully, that carrier was not hit.

Letter carrier Kyle Olson said he's on guard after the shootings.

"You kind of got to remember you're not 100 percent safe," Olson said. "Hopefully it's just an isolated situation, that's what we're hoping anyway."

Minneapolis police are looking for suspects. They don't know if the two shootings are connected.

If you want to report any mail related crimes, you can call the U.S. Postal Inspection Service Hotline at 877-876-2455.
