A joint investigation by authorities in Wisconsin into the distribution of methamphetamine in Sawyer County led to the arrest of a 38-year-old Minneapolis man following a traffic stop Friday night in Radisson.

A release from the Sawyer County Sheriff's Department said Samoeun Moeuth, a resident of Minneapolis, was arrested after 86.8 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale and $500 in cash were seized from the car. A female passenger, identified as 28-year-old Cecily Angela Vitek, was also arrested.

The release said Moeuth was arrested in September by Hayward police for possession of drug paraphernalia, and an investigation was started after complaints were received about alleged illegal drug activity in rooms registered to him at a local casino.

On Oct. 30, the release alleges almost a quarter-ounce of methamphetamine was recovered during an arrest. Around the same amount was recovered on each of the next two days. Authorities determined it allegedly came from Moeuth.

And information gained through the investigations allegedly indicated Moeuth was returning to the county Friday with a large amount of methamphetamine in the same black Saturn passenger vehicle he was in when he was arrested in September.
