Man dead after Minneapolis shooting

Authorities are investigating a homicide that took place in Minneapolis early Sunday morning.

Minneapolis police responded to a report of shots fired on the 1500 block of Plymouth Avenue North at around 12:25 a.m. The reports then quickly changed to a report of a shooting, according to a press release.


When police arrived to the scene, they located an adult male victim and provided first aid until EMS arrived. The victim was transported by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center where he died from his injuries. The victim was in his 30s, according to police.

Investigators, including those from the crime lab, began checking for possible evidence and surveillance video, the release states.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office was expected to release the name of the victim.

Investigation into the incident is considered open and active with no arrests made.
