At a committee meeting Thursday afternoon, Minneapolis City Council members will be briefed on security preparations for the Super Bowl.
Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo and Fire Chief John Fruetel will be joined by Emergency Management personnel in discussing reports and plans with the Public Safety Committee.
The meeting starts at 1:30 p.m. at Minneapolis City Hall.
Most recently, the Minneapolis Police Department has been busy training the Super Bowl Host Committee's Crew 52. More than 10,000 volunteers are being trained to recognize and report suspicious activity. The department will also receive help from the Minnesota National Guard and thousands of police officers from area departments.
