The body of a Minneapolis boy was found Saturday after he was lost in a mine pit lake in Crosby, Minnesota.

The 13-year-old boy went into the water to get a frisbee during a family reunion. He was swept away by the currents, according to Sgt. DJ Downie of Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office. The boy's family was renting cabins in Crosby near Armour No. 2 Mine.

The boy's father went in to rescue him, but he couldn't get to the boy in time. Crews were dispatched to search the area around 7:30 p.m. Friday, but they did not find the boy.

Saturday morning, crews resumed the search, finding the boy's body around noon in water that was about 92 feet deep.

Authorities are not labeling this as a drowning officially. No names are being released at this time.
